Coaching in either one on one settings or in a group of other youth and family ministry practitioners can help you determine what next steps you need to take and encourage you in the work that you are doing. We have partnered with the Student Leadership Network, part of the Next Generation Leadership Initiative for the ACNA, to offer a ministry assessment. Taking the assessment gives you space to think through your ministry, allows us to learn how to better support you, and is the first step in setting up a coaching relationship.
As a rookie Youth Minister, I was given some great advice from a veteran Youth Minister. He said, “Sometimes we don’t know what we don’t know.” This advice has stuck with me for over 20 years and has become one of my personal ministry values – never be afraid to lay my best plans before a trusted advisor to make them even better. As the Canon for Youth and Family Ministry, I want to help you develop in your own leadership, to better deploy your people, programs, and processes in your ministry setting. By filling out this quick 15-minute assessment, you will begin to get a clearer understanding of the health and effectiveness of your ministry. After that, I will set up a time to explain how the Diocese can serve you and your ministry through a coaching relationship.
